Sports Nutritionist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and dedicated Sports Nutritionist to join their performance team in Reading . This role focuses on providing expert nutritional guidance to athletes and sports teams to optimize their performance, recovery, and overall health. You will assess individual dietary needs, develop personalized nutrition plans, and educate athletes on the principles of sports nutrition. This position offers a hybrid working model, combining on-site consultations with remote planning and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct nutritional assessments for athletes, including dietary analysis and body composition measurements.
• Develop individualized nutrition plans to support training, competition, and recovery goals.
• Educate athletes and coaches on the importance of nutrition for performance and health.
• Monitor athlete progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed based on performance outcomes and feedback.
• Stay current with the latest research and best practices in sports nutrition.
• Collaborate with coaches, sports scientists, and medical staff to ensure integrated athlete care.

Requirements

• Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) or equivalent professional qualification.
• Proven experience working as a Sports Nutritionist with athletes or sports teams.
• In-depth knowledge of sports physiology, exercise metabolism, and nutritional science.
• Excellent communication, counseling, and educational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a hybrid setting.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., BDA, SENr) is highly desirable.
