About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly qualified and passionate Sports Nutritionist to join their expanding team in Sunderland . This role is pivotal in enhancing athletic performance and promoting overall well-being for athletes across various disciplines within the Leisure & Sports sector. You will be responsible for developing personalized nutrition plans, providing expert advice, and educating athletes on the importance of diet for optimal physical conditioning and recovery. This hybrid role allows for both direct client consultation and remote analysis and planning, contributing significantly to athlete success.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess athletes' nutritional needs and design individualized diet plans to support training, competition, and recovery goals.
- Provide evidence-based advice on hydration, supplementation, and dietary strategies for performance enhancement.
- Educate athletes and coaching staff on sports nutrition principles through workshops and one-on-one consultations.
- Monitor athletes' progress and adjust nutrition plans as needed based on performance data and feedback.
- Stay current with the latest research and developments in sports nutrition and exercise physiology.
- Collaborate with coaches, medical staff, and other support personnel to ensure a holistic approach to athlete care.
Requirements
- Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field, with a specialization in Sports Nutrition.
- Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) or equivalent professional accreditation.
- Proven experience working with athletes or sports teams at various levels.
- Strong understanding of exercise physiology, metabolism, and sports performance.
- Excellent communication, counseling, and motivational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
