Ready to Use Your Clinical Skills Differently?

Are you a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Pharmacist looking for a new direction in your clinical career?

This is an opportunity to step away from frontline pressures and shift work while continuing to use your clinical knowledge, assessment skills and professional judgement.

As a PIP & WCA Functional Assessor, you'll assess how an individual's health conditions or disabilities affect their daily living, mobility and functional ability, depending on the assessment being completed.

No nights. No weekends. No bank holidays. No hands-on care.

The Role

You'll carry out structured assessments through telephone, video and face-to-face consultations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting PIP and/or WCA assessments

• Taking detailed clinical histories using structured questioning

• Exploring the impact of physical, mental and cognitive conditions

• Reviewing medical evidence and supporting information

• Applying clinical reasoning and professional judgement

• Assessing functional ability rather than diagnosing or treating

• Producing clear, accurate and evidence-based reports

• Managing your own caseload while meeting quality standards and deadlines

The role allows you to use your existing clinical experience in a different setting, with a strong focus on assessment, evidence evaluation, clinical reasoning and report writing.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for fully registered healthcare professionals with:

• Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Paramedic or Pharmacy experience

• Active NMC, HCPC or GPhC registration

• Minimum 12 months' post-registration clinical experience

• Strong clinical assessment and reasoning skills

• Confident communication skills

• Good report-writing ability

• Strong IT and organisational skills

• The ability to analyse information and make evidence-based decisions

What's On Offer?

• £45,000 increasing to £47,000 after 12 months (PIP)

• £48,000 increasing £49,000 after 12 months (WCA)

• 5% approval bonus following successful approval

• Up to 10% annual performance and quality bonus

• Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm

• Hybrid working

• No nights, weekends or bank holidays

• Fully paid training

• Ongoing coaching and clinical support

• 25 days annual leave + bank holidays

• Pension scheme

• CPD and professional development opportunities

• Career progression opportunities

• Wellbeing and employee support

Full Training Provided

You don't need previous Functional Assessor experience.

You'll receive fully paid, structured training covering assessment methodology, evidence evaluation, clinical reasoning and report writing, helping you transfer your existing clinical skills into a new assessment-focused career.

This is an opportunity to step away from shift work and frontline care without stepping away from your clinical career.
