Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed structural and stress analyses on mechanical components and assemblies using FEA software .
- Interpret analysis results to provide design recommendations and modifications to improve structural performance and safety margins.
- Develop and validate analytical models against experimental test data and real-world performance.
- Collaborate with design engineers to integrate structural requirements into the product development process.
- Create technical reports summarizing analysis methodologies, findings, and recommendations for design improvements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations for structural integrity, working closely with regulatory bodies as needed.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in structural mechanics or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in structural analysis and FEA .
- Proficiency with major FEA software packages such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or Nastran.
- Strong understanding of solid mechanics, material properties, and failure theories.
- Experience with data acquisition and experimental validation of analytical models.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting in Cardiff .
