About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Subsea Controls Engineer to join their expanding team, supporting offshore projects from our regional office in Norwich . This role is central to the design, specification, and integration of subsea control systems for oil and gas production facilities. You will ensure that these complex systems function reliably and safely in challenging offshore environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical, electronic, or control systems engineering, with specific experience in subsea hardware and software integration. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions for deepwater developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify subsea control modules (SCMs), topside control panels, and associated hydraulic/electrical systems.
- Develop control logic, software, and HMI configurations for subsea systems.
- Oversee the integration and testing of subsea control systems, both onshore and offshore.
- Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and operation phases.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and client specifications.
- Troubleshoot system issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in the design and implementation of subsea control systems .
- Proficiency with relevant subsea hardware, software, and communication protocols.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic power units (HPUs), PLCs, and SCADA systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a project team.
- Experience with offshore testing and commissioning procedures is highly desirable.
