About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer with a focus on automation to join their team in Norwich . This role operates on a hybrid basis, requiring on-site work for system implementation, testing, and troubleshooting, alongside remote responsibilities for design, programming, and documentation. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the automated control systems that underpin our client's complex manufacturing processes. This position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge automation technology and contribute significantly to operational efficiency and reliability within a dynamic industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission industrial control systems, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
- Develop and implement automation strategies to improve process efficiency, safety, and product quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems hardware and software in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with process engineers and operations teams to define automation requirements.
- Maintain and update control system documentation, including P&IDs, logic diagrams, and user manuals.
- Stay current with advancements in automation technology and recommend system upgrades.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering , Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on control systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI/SCADA development.
- Strong understanding of process control principles and instrumentation.
- Experience with networking protocols relevant to industrial automation.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, requiring both on-site presence in Norwich and remote capabilities.
