Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

Key Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, respecting their choices and promoting independence.
• Assist with personal care, domestic tasks, and medication administration as outlined in individual support plans.
• Facilitate community integration by supporting participation in social, recreational, and educational activities.
• Encourage and support the development of life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, and communication.
• Monitor and report on the well-being of individuals, escalating any concerns to the appropriate manager.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of support provided and client progress.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities is highly advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and promoting dignity and respect.
• Ability to work flexibly, including shifts, and as part of a supportive team.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and following best practice guidelines.
