Our client is seeking a compassionate and patient Support Worker to join their team dedicated to individuals with learning disabilities in Brighton . This role is centered around empowering individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives within their community. You will provide personalised support, assisting with daily living activities, promoting social inclusion, and encouraging the development of life skills. Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, respecting their choices and promoting independence.
- Assist with personal care, domestic tasks, and medication administration as outlined in individual support plans.
- Facilitate community integration by supporting participation in social, recreational, and educational activities.
- Encourage and support the development of life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, and communication.
- Monitor and report on the well-being of individuals, escalating any concerns to the appropriate manager.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of support provided and client progress.
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and promoting dignity and respect.
- Ability to work flexibly, including shifts, and as part of a supportive team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and following best practice guidelines.
