Swimming Instructor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and qualified Swimming Instructor to teach lessons at their aquatic centre in Stoke-on-Trent . You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective swimming lessons to various age groups and skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. This role is perfect for an individual with a passion for water safety and teaching, who can inspire confidence in learners and help them develop essential swimming skills, contributing to the community's aquatic education programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons according to the established curriculum and safety guidelines.
• Assess the skill level of participants and group them appropriately for effective instruction.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during lessons, enforcing pool rules strictly.
• Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to learners to promote skill development and confidence.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and report on participant progress.
• Collaborate with pool management and other instructors to ensure a cohesive aquatics programme.

Requirements

• Recognized swimming instructor qualification (e.g., STA, Swim England certified).
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience teaching swimming to children and/or adults.
• Strong water safety knowledge and ability to manage a pool environment effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and enthusiasm.
