About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Swimming Instructor to join their aquatic team in Plymouth . You will be responsible for teaching swimming skills and water safety to participants of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced swimmers. This role requires a patient, engaging, and safety-conscious individual who can create a fun and effective learning environment. You will play a vital role in promoting water confidence and lifelong swimming skills within the Plymouth community, contributing to a safe and enjoyable swimming experience for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality swimming lessons in accordance with the facility's curriculum and national standards.
- Assess the skill level of participants and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs and progress.
- Ensure a safe and controlled environment during all lessons, strictly adhering to safety procedures and policies.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to swimmers to build confidence and improve technique.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and any incidents.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and development.
Requirements
- Current recognised Swimming Instructor qualification (e.g., Swim England Level 1 or Level 2, or equivalent).
- Valid First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
- Previous experience teaching swimming to various age groups is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and adults.
- A strong commitment to water safety and child protection.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
