About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a discerning Talent Scout specializing in performing arts to join their team in Edinburgh . This role involves identifying, evaluating, and recruiting emerging artists and performers across various disciplines, including theatre, dance, and music, for exciting opportunities within the entertainment industry. Working in a hybrid capacity, you will leverage your extensive network and keen eye for potential, splitting your time between scouting events and office-based administrative and strategic planning. You will play a vital role in shaping the future roster of talent for prestigious productions.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend live performances, auditions, and industry events to identify promising new talent in performing arts.
• Evaluate performers' skills, potential, and suitability for specific roles or projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with artists, agents, and performing arts institutions.
• Conduct thorough background research and due diligence on potential candidates.
• Liaise with artistic directors and casting departments to understand talent needs.
• Negotiate initial contracts and facilitate the onboarding process for selected artists.

Requirements

• Proven experience (4+ years) in talent scouting, casting, or artist management within the performing arts or broader entertainment sector.
• An extensive network of contacts within the performing arts community.
• Exceptional ability to assess artistic talent and potential.
• Strong understanding of the various disciplines within performing arts (e.g., theatre, dance, musical theatre).
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and attend events, combined with the ability to work effectively remotely on administrative tasks.
