About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Telecoms Installation Technician to join their expanding operations in Leeds . You will be responsible for the physical installation and setup of telecommunications equipment, ensuring all connections are made correctly and systems are operational from the outset. This role requires practical skills, a methodical approach, and the ability to work efficiently on-site, often in new business premises or residential properties. It's a hands-on job that plays a critical part in connecting our clients' customers to essential communication networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, fibre optic cabling, and antennae.
- Run and terminate network cables , ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Perform system tests and diagnostics to verify successful installation and functionality.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and installation manuals.
- Provide basic user training on newly installed equipment and systems.
- Ensure all installation sites are left clean and tidy, adhering to company policies.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an installation technician or in a similar hands-on role.
- Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure, including copper and fibre cabling .
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Understanding of basic network concepts and connectivity.
- Good physical condition to handle installation tasks, which may involve working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
