Telecoms Network Administrator

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and skilled Telecoms Network Administrator to manage and maintain their critical network infrastructure in Oxford . This role combines hands-on system administration with strategic network oversight, ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of telecommunications services. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of network devices, performance monitoring, and user support, working collaboratively within a hybrid model. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high levels of network performance and security for all users.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and security, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
• Implement and manage network security measures, including access controls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Perform regular network maintenance, upgrades, and patching.
• Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues.
• Maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and asset inventory.
• Assist in planning and implementing network expansions and improvements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role within the telecoms environment.
• Solid understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP , DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and security best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
