Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Telecoms Network Planner to join their growing team in Nottingham . This role is instrumental in shaping the future expansion and optimization of our client's telecommunications network. You will be responsible for forecasting capacity needs, designing network layouts, and planning infrastructure upgrades to meet increasing demand and evolving technological landscapes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical aptitude and a thorough understanding of network design principles within the telecom industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop long-term network expansion plans and capacity forecasts based on traffic analysis and growth projections.
- Design network architectures and select appropriate technologies to meet service requirements and business objectives.
- Create detailed network diagrams, specifications, and implementation plans for new infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct site feasibility studies and assess potential network deployment locations.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies that may impact network planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network planning, design, or engineering within the telecommunications sector.
- Solid understanding of network technologies, including fibre optics, wireless (4G/5G), IP networking, and transmission systems.
- Proficiency with network planning and design tools (e.g., CAD software, GIS tools).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
