About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and skilled Telecoms Network Security Specialist to join their team in Reading . This role is vital for protecting the integrity and confidentiality of the company's telecommunications network and associated data. You will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining robust security measures, as well as responding to security threats and incidents. Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
• Monitor network traffic for security breaches and suspicious activities, and respond to security alerts.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices for network access and data protection.
• Investigate and resolve security incidents, providing post-incident analysis and recommendations.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies relevant to the telecoms industry.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Security Specialist or similar role within a network environment.
• Strong knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and security analysis techniques.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
