Telecoms Network Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated Telecoms Network Technician to join their operational team in Nottingham . This role is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of our client's telecommunications network infrastructure. You will work closely with senior engineers to ensure network stability, resolve technical issues, and perform routine checks to maintain optimal service performance. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network equipment, including routers, switches, and servers.
• Respond to network alerts and incidents, troubleshooting and resolving issues under the guidance of senior staff.
• Assist with the installation and configuration of new network hardware and software.
• Monitor network performance and report on key metrics.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and troubleshooting steps.
• Provide first-level technical support for network-related queries.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or vocational training in Telecommunications, IT, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a technical support or network technician role is preferred.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools is a plus.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
