About the Role
Our client is looking for a forward-thinking Urban Design Architect to join their expanding team in Wolverhampton . This role is central to shaping the future urban landscape, focusing on creating vibrant, sustainable, and people-centered communities. You will lead the conceptualization and development of masterplans and urban design frameworks, collaborating with various stakeholders including local authorities, developers, and community groups. Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative urban design strategies and masterplans for new developments and regeneration areas.
- Create high-quality visualisations, design guidelines, and reports to communicate urban design concepts.
- Engage with stakeholders, including local authorities, community groups, and developers, to foster consensus and support for design proposals.
- Ensure urban designs integrate seamlessly with existing urban fabric, public transport, and green infrastructure.
- Advise on planning policy implications and contribute to design review processes.
- Collaborate with architectural and landscape design teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
Requirements
- Professional qualification in Architecture, Urban Planning, or Urban Design.
- Significant experience (7+ years) in urban design or related fields, with a strong portfolio of masterplanning projects.
- Proficiency in urban design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS tools.
- Strong understanding of urban planning principles, sustainable development, and placemaking strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working with local councils and understanding planning policy is crucial for this Wolverhampton -based role.
