About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Urban Designer to join their esteemed planning and design consultancy in Liverpool . This role is pivotal in shaping the future urban landscape, focusing on the creation of sustainable, vibrant, and well-connected communities. You will be responsible for developing masterplans, design frameworks, and strategic spatial strategies for a range of urban regeneration and development projects. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to projects that have a lasting positive impact on the built environment. This is a significant opportunity to influence urban development in the North West and contribute to creating distinctive and functional public spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative and high-quality urban design concepts, masterplans, and development frameworks.
- Prepare design guidance, planning statements, and visualisations for planning applications and public consultations.
- Analyse urban contexts, identifying opportunities and constraints for development and regeneration.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, landscape architects, and other consultants to integrate design proposals.
- Engage with stakeholders, including local authorities, communities, and developers, to build consensus and support for design proposals.
- Ensure design proposals align with national and local planning policies, sustainability objectives, and design quality standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Urban Design, Planning, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in urban design, with a portfolio showcasing relevant project work.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and preferably GIS.
- Strong understanding of urban planning policy, development processes, and architectural principles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and public engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
