You will work directly with youth in various settings, fostering positive relationships and connecting them with opportunities for personal growth and development. This is a hands-on position within the Community & Social Care sector, requiring a passionate individual committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of young people within the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with young people, building trust and providing a supportive listening ear.
- Develop and deliver engaging programs and activities designed to enhance life skills and social development.
- Provide guidance on issues such as education, employment, housing, and mental well-being.
- Act as a positive role model, offering encouragement and practical advice.
- Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and families to ensure a holistic support network.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and support provided.
Requirements
- Experience working with young people in a support , educational, or youth work setting.
- Strong understanding of the challenges and needs faced by young people today.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours and de-escalate situations effectively.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in youth work, social care, or a related field are desirable.
