About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the aerospace sector, is seeking a talented Aerospace Design Engineer specializing in structural design to join their innovative team in Sunderland . This role is integral to the development of next-generation aircraft components and systems, requiring a deep understanding of materials science, stress analysis, and manufacturing processes. You will contribute to cutting-edge projects, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to bring complex aerospace structures from concept to reality. This hybrid position offers a balance of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, ideal for an engineer passionate about pushing the boundaries of aerospace engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and analyze aircraft structural components and systems using advanced CAD/CAE software.
- Perform detailed stress analysis, fatigue life prediction, and material selection for aerospace structures.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production and assembly.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for design release and regulatory approval.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and validation testing of structural components.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies within the engineering department.
Requirements
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in structural design and analysis within the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Nastran).
- Strong understanding of composite materials, metallic alloys, and their application in aerospace structures.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and relevant industry standards (e.g., ARP4754, DO-160).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment.
