Arborist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and certified Arborist to join their team based in Stoke-on-Trent . This physically demanding role involves the care, management, and safe removal of trees in various environments, including residential, commercial, and public spaces. You will be responsible for assessing tree health, identifying potential hazards, and implementing appropriate treatment or removal strategies. The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, expertise in climbing and rigging techniques, and a passion for arboriculture.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tree climbing, pruning, and shaping to maintain tree health, structure, and aesthetics.
• Conduct thorough assessments of tree health, structural integrity, and disease or pest infestations.
• Safely dismantle and remove trees, including complex removals in challenging locations, using appropriate techniques.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, and other arboricultural equipment.
• Advise clients on tree care, maintenance schedules, and hazard mitigation strategies.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with industry best practices and health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Certification as a Certified Arborist (e.g., ISA Certified Arborist).
• Proven experience in professional tree care and climbing operations.
• Proficiency in safe chainsaw operation, rigging, and tree removal techniques.
• Knowledge of tree biology, identification, diseases, and pests.
• Valid UK driving license and ability to operate related machinery.
• Strong physical fitness and tolerance for working at heights and in various weather conditions.
