About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Arborist to join their growing team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role involves the professional care and management of trees, including pruning, trimming, removal, and health assessments, often in challenging or high-risk environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety of trees on both public and private properties, contributing to the health and aesthetics of the urban and rural landscape in Staffordshire . This position requires expertise in tree climbing techniques, knowledge of arboricultural best practices, and a strong commitment to health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tree climbing, pruning, and trimming operations to maintain tree health, shape, and safety.
• Safely remove trees that are diseased, damaged, or pose a hazard, using appropriate cutting techniques and equipment.
• Conduct thorough tree inspections and health assessments, identifying potential risks and recommending treatment plans.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and other arborist equipment.
• Provide advice to clients on tree care, preservation, and management strategies.
• Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with industry standards and health and safety regulations.
• Respond to emergency calls for storm-damaged trees or hazardous situations.

Requirements

• Certification from a recognized arboricultural body (e.g., RFS, Lantra) is essential.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as an Arborist .
• Proficiency in tree climbing, rigging, and advanced pruning techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of tree biology, diseases, and pest identification.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the arboriculture industry.
• Ability to work effectively at heights and in challenging environmental conditions.
