Arborist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a certified and experienced Arborist to join their tree care services team in Reading . This role involves the safe and efficient pruning, maintenance, and removal of trees in various settings, including residential, commercial, and public spaces. You will be responsible for assessing tree health, diagnosing problems, and implementing the best care strategies to ensure the longevity and safety of trees. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of arboricultural practices, excellent climbing skills, and a commitment to safety and environmental stewardship. This is a physically demanding but rewarding role for an individual passionate about tree care and the urban environment in Berkshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tree pruning , trimming, and shaping to maintain tree health, structure, and aesthetics.
• Safely dismantle and remove trees, including hazardous trees, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Conduct tree risk assessments and provide recommendations for remedial action.
• Operate chainsaws, chippers, rigging equipment, and aerial lift devices safely and effectively.
• Identify tree species, diseases, pests, and structural defects, recommending appropriate treatments.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and industry best practices, including climbing safety and site management.

Requirements

• Certification as a Certified Arborist (e.g., ISA Certified Arborist) is essential.
• Proven experience in professional tree care and climbing operations.
• Proficiency in operating chainsaws, chippers, and related arborist equipment.
• Strong knowledge of tree biology, diseases, pests, and pruning standards.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
