About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Arborist to join their team in Portsmouth . This role involves the expert care and maintenance of trees, including planting, pruning, and removal, ensuring the health, safety, and aesthetic appeal of arboreal assets. You will work on a variety of sites, from private gardens to commercial properties and public spaces, utilizing specialized equipment and techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tree biology, arboricultural best practices, and a commitment to safe working procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tree surveys, hazard assessments, and provide recommendations for care.
- Conduct professional tree pruning, shaping, and crown reduction to promote health and safety.
- Safely carry out tree felling and dismantling operations, including difficult or hazardous removals.
- Planting new trees and providing aftercare to ensure successful establishment.
- Identify and diagnose tree diseases, pests, and other issues, recommending appropriate treatments.
- Operate and maintain chainsaws, climbing equipment, and other arboricultural tools.
Requirements
- Certified Arborist qualification (e.g., RFS, Lantra, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in practical arboriculture and tree care.
- Proficiency in climbing techniques and aerial rescue procedures.
- Knowledge of tree species, biology, and common diseases/pests.
- Valid driver's license and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
