About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Edinburgh . This role is focused on the design, development, and integration of complex electrical architectures for next-generation vehicles. You will work on everything from power distribution and battery management systems to advanced sensor integration and network communication. The ideal candidate has a strong background in automotive electrical engineering principles and a passion for creating robust, efficient, and reliable vehicle electrical systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical distribution systems, including wiring harnesses, fuses, and relays.
- Integrate and validate electrical components and subsystems, such as ECUs, sensors, and actuators.
- Develop and manage communication networks, including CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, software) to ensure seamless system integration.
- Perform electrical load analysis, short-circuit calculations, and thermal management studies.
- Troubleshoot electrical system issues during development and production phases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive electrical systems engineering.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (e.g., Zuken E3.series, Capital) and simulation software.
- Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols and network architectures.
- Experience with power electronics and battery management systems is a plus.
