About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Electrician to join their busy garage in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for diagnosing and repairing complex electrical systems in a wide range of vehicles. You will work with modern diagnostic equipment to identify faults and ensure all electrical components function correctly, from basic lighting to advanced infotainment and engine management systems. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in vehicle lighting, starting, charging, and ignition systems.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and oscilloscopes to pinpoint issues within complex vehicle networks, such as CAN bus systems.
- Install and repair aftermarket accessories, including alarms, audio systems, and navigation devices.
- Perform wiring checks, soldering, and splicing to ensure secure and reliable electrical connections.
- Interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics to guide troubleshooting and repair processes.
- Maintain accurate records of all diagnostic procedures, repairs performed, and parts used in the Newcastle upon Tyne facility.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Electrician or a similar role with a focus on vehicle electrics.
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostic software and equipment relevant to electrical systems.
- Familiarity with vehicle communication networks (e.g., CAN, LIN).
- A full UK driving license is required.
