About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Electrician to join their specialized workshop in Glasgow . This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing complex electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, battery systems, and electronic control units (ECUs) across a variety of vehicle types. You will be instrumental in troubleshooting intricate electrical faults, performing precise repairs, and ensuring the optimal functioning of all automotive electrical components. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified electrician with a passion for vehicles to apply their expertise in a dedicated automotive setting, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive electrical issues, including wiring harnesses, lighting systems , and accessory functions.
- Perform tests on batteries, alternators, starters, and charging systems to ensure proper operation.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and oscilloscopes to pinpoint electrical faults and malfunctions.
- Install and repair electronic control units (ECUs), sensors, and related automotive electronic components.
- Ensure all electrical work is completed to a high standard, adhering to safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of all diagnostic procedures, repairs performed, and parts used.
Requirements
- Qualified Automotive Electrician with demonstrable experience in diagnosing and repairing vehicle electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Strong understanding of automotive wiring diagrams, circuit operation, and electronic components.
- Experience with vehicle security systems , alarm installations, and audio/visual systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving license and a willingness to stay updated on the latest automotive electrical technologies.
