About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Automotive Electrician to join their busy workshop in Coventry . You will be responsible for the diagnosis and repair of all automotive electrical systems, from basic wiring faults to complex electronic control units. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting. Working within a team of experienced mechanics, you will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are returned to customers with all electrical systems functioning optimally, maintaining our client's reputation for excellence in the Coventry area.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults in automotive electrical systems, including lighting, batteries, alternators, and starter motors.
- Install and troubleshoot electrical components and accessories, such as alarms, audio systems, and navigation units.
- Perform complex diagnostics on engine management systems and ECU (Electronic Control Unit) related issues.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals accurately.
- Ensure all electrical repairs meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, keeping accurate records of work performed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Electrician or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and electronic components.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools specific to automotive electrical systems .
- Ability to interpret complex wiring diagrams and schematics.
- A relevant qualification in automotive electrical systems is advantageous.
