About the Role
Our client, a respected firm in the automotive sector based in Wolverhampton , is seeking an innovative Automotive Mechanical Engineer to join their design and development team. You will be involved in the conceptualization, design, and testing of automotive components and systems, contributing to the creation of next-generation vehicles. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, proficiency with CAD software, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of automotive technology. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to bring new automotive innovations to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for automotive applications using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA).
- Perform stress analysis, thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate designs.
- Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible for production.
- Build and test prototypes, analyzing performance data and making necessary design refinements.
- Stay abreast of new materials, manufacturing processes, and automotive technologies.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in automotive mechanical design and development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of material science, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
