About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Automotive Mechanical Engineer with a specialization in powertrain development to join their innovative engineering team in Wolverhampton . This hybrid role involves the design, analysis, and testing of advanced powertrain systems, contributing to the development of high-performance and efficient engines and transmissions. You will work in a collaborative environment, utilizing advanced simulation tools and experimental testing to push the boundaries of automotive engineering in Wolverhampton .
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components for automotive powertrains, including engine, transmission, and driveline systems.
- Perform mechanical simulations and analysis using tools such as FEA and CFD to optimize performance and durability.
- Conduct experimental testing of powertrain components and systems, analyzing test data to validate designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and software developers, to integrate powertrain systems.
- Investigate and resolve mechanical issues encountered during development, testing, and production phases.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for design reviews and project updates.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in automotive powertrain design and development .
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and FEA/CFD analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science relevant to powertrains.
- Experience with engine testing, calibration, and emissions development is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for working in Wolverhampton .
