About the Role
Our client, a busy automotive service centre in Portsmouth , is seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor . This is a crucial customer-facing role, acting as the primary point of contact between customers and the workshop technicians. You will be responsible for accurately understanding customer needs, explaining necessary repairs and services, and ensuring a smooth customer experience from vehicle drop-off to collection. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of automotive operations in Hampshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, accurately log vehicle details, and understand their reported issues.
- Effectively translate technical information into clear, concise explanations for customers regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Book appointments and manage the workshop's schedule efficiently, ensuring optimal utilisation of technician time.
- Provide accurate cost estimates for services and repairs, and obtain customer approval.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, building trust and encouraging repeat business.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably within the automotive industry.
- A good understanding of automotive terminology and basic vehicle repair processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using workshop management software and standard office applications.
