About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and technically proficient Automotive Test Engineer to join their research and development team in Oxford . This role is integral to ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of new automotive components and systems. You will design, execute, and analyze a variety of tests, working with cutting-edge equipment to validate designs before production. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of testing methodologies and a passion for pushing the boundaries of automotive technology. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop test plans and procedures for automotive components and systems according to specifications.
- Set up and operate testing equipment, including environmental chambers, vibration rigs, and data acquisition systems.
- Execute tests, accurately record test data, and perform initial analysis of results.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test setups, equipment, and test articles.
- Document test findings, create detailed test reports, and present results to engineering teams.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Automotive Test Engineer or in a similar testing role.
- Familiarity with various testing methodologies and equipment used in the automotive industry.
- Experience with data acquisition systems and analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a laboratory environment.
