The Role - Behaviour Mentor
We are looking for a confident and experienced Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist SEN College in Croydon starting ASAP. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional behavioural, emotional and pastoral support. You will support students with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, challenging behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties and complex learning needs.
The role will involve providing 1:1 intervention and in-class support, helping students manage their behaviour, regulate their emotions and remain engaged with their learning.
You will support students both inside and outside of the classroom, including during breaks, lunch and other less structured periods of the day. You may also support students around the college and help them transition between lessons and activities.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will build positive and trusting relationships with students, provide consistent behavioural support and use appropriate de-escalation and behaviour management strategies when required. As a Behaviour Mentor you will work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to ensure students receive the appropriate support to access learning, develop independence and make positive progress. Physical Intervention or Tem Teach Training is highly desirable.

The college provides a structured and supportive environment designed to help students develop academically, socially and emotionally. Staff work closely together to support positive behaviour, emotional regulation, engagement and independence.
The college has a strong focus on individualised support and positive behaviour management, with staff supporting students both within the classroom and across the wider college environment.
