Lead Automotive Electrician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Lead Automotive Electrician to oversee electrical system diagnostics and repairs at their busy facility in Birmingham . This leadership role involves not only hands-on technical work but also guiding a team of electricians to ensure the highest quality of service for complex vehicle electrical issues. You will be instrumental in maintaining cutting-edge diagnostic capabilities and implementing efficient workflows within the workshop. We are looking for an individual with exceptional troubleshooting skills and a passion for automotive electrical systems, who can contribute to a culture of technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair intricate electrical faults in vehicles, including CAN bus systems, wiring harnesses, and electronic control modules.
• Lead and mentor a team of automotive electricians, ensuring efficient workflow and quality control.
• Develop and implement new diagnostic procedures for emerging vehicle electrical technologies.
• Maintain and calibrate all electrical diagnostic equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with other technicians to resolve complex mechanical and electrical integration issues.
• Provide expert technical support to the service advisors and other workshop personnel.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as an Automotive Electrician with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Advanced knowledge of automotive electrical schematics, diagnostic software, and component testing.
• Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle electrical systems is highly desirable.
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive electrical systems.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex electrical fault finding.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team.
