About the Role

Our client, a significant entity within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a skilled and strategic Category Buyer to join their procurement team in Sheffield . Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned FMCG product categories to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and availability.
• Conduct thorough supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract management to secure favorable terms and build strong relationships.
• Monitor market trends, raw material costs, and supplier performance to identify risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product development and marketing, to align sourcing with business needs and innovation pipelines.
• Manage inventory levels for sourced products, working closely with supply chain teams to ensure optimal stock management.
• Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing practices, regulatory requirements, and company procurement policies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Procurement or Category Buying , with a strong preference for experience within the FMCG industry.
• Proven negotiation skills and demonstrated success in managing supplier relationships and contracts.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze cost data, market intelligence, and supplier performance.
• Excellent understanding of supply chain dynamics and inventory management principles.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field.
