About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous Chemical Engineer with expertise in pharmaceutical scale-up to join their dynamic team in Glasgow . This hybrid role involves working closely with R&D and manufacturing teams to translate laboratory processes into robust, scalable manufacturing operations for new drug substances. You will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless transition from pilot to commercial production, adhering to strict regulatory and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute the scale-up of chemical processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial manufacturing scales.
- Design and specify process equipment for new manufacturing trains, ensuring compliance with GMP standards.
- Develop and validate process operating procedures and control strategies.
- Conduct process performance studies, identifying areas for optimization in yield, throughput, and cost.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to ensure all processes meet stringent industry requirements.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, implement corrective actions, and document all process changes meticulously.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in process development and scale-up, with a strong focus on the pharmaceutical industry .
- Proven knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA).
- Experience with process modeling, simulation, and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of reaction engineering, separation technologies, and process control.
- Excellent project management and cross-functional team collaboration skills.
