About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Chemical Engineer to join their rapidly expanding pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Southampton . This role is essential for the development, scale-up, and optimisation of processes involved in the production of life-saving medicines. You will work within a highly regulated environment, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other industry standards. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail, eager to contribute to innovation and efficiency in pharmaceutical production. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate new chemical processes for pharmaceutical intermediate and API manufacturing.
- Optimise existing processes to improve yield, purity, efficiency, and reduce waste.
- Conduct scale-up studies from laboratory to pilot plant and commercial production scales.
- Prepare and review process documentation, including batch records, validation protocols, and technical reports.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing process deviations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Research and Development, and Production teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a relevant scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in process development or manufacturing within the pharmaceutical industry .
- Strong understanding of GMP regulations and their application in process design and validation.
- Experience with process simulation, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
