About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Process Engineer with a specialization in scale-up to join their innovative facility in Leeds . This role is essential for bridging the gap between laboratory-scale research and full-scale industrial production. You will be responsible for the meticulous planning, execution, and optimization of processes as they transition from development to manufacturing. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of chemical kinetics and reactor design, and a passion for bringing new chemical technologies to commercial reality, working within a forward-thinking organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the scale-up of chemical processes from laboratory and pilot plant to commercial manufacturing levels.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for scale-up challenges.
- Design and specify process equipment and instrumentation required for new plant installations or modifications.
- Develop detailed operating procedures and provide training to plant operators during process commissioning.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and R&D departments to ensure successful technology transfer and implementation.
- Monitor process performance post-commissioning and implement further optimizations.
Requirements
- BEng or MEng in Chemical Engineering .
- A minimum of 5 years of experience focused on chemical process scale-up and implementation.
- Proficiency in process simulation and modelling tools.
- Strong knowledge of reactor design, separation technologies, and process control strategies.
- Experience in HAZOP studies and other process safety management techniques.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
