About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chemical Process Engineer to join their innovative team based in Leicester . This pivotal role involves optimizing existing chemical processes and developing new ones to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability within our manufacturing operations. You will be instrumental in translating laboratory discoveries into large-scale industrial applications, working at the intersection of chemistry, physics, and engineering. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and scale up chemical processes from pilot plant to full production.
- Monitor and analyze process performance data, identifying areas for improvement in yield, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct feasibility studies and HAZOP analyses to ensure the safety and viability of new and modified processes.
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal plant performance.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless process implementation and operation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in process design, optimization, and scale-up within the chemical industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
- Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental compliance standards in the UK.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
