About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and adaptable Chemical Process Engineer to join their innovative team in Cambridge . This is a hybrid position, offering a balance between remote work and on-site collaboration essential for process development and optimisation. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and improving chemical processes, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and adherence to quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses a strong theoretical background and practical experience, eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects within a world-renowned scientific hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new chemical processes, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and scalable.
- Optimise existing processes to improve yield, reduce waste, and minimise operational costs.
- Conduct process simulations and analyses to identify potential improvements and troubleshoot issues.
- Prepare technical documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, and operating procedures.
- Collaborate with research, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful process implementation and validation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in chemical process design, development, or optimisation.
- Familiarity with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS) and CAD tools.
- Good understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and reaction kinetics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, suitable for a hybrid work model.
