About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their financial operations from their Glasgow office. This executive role is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning, risk management, and investor relations. You will play a critical part in shaping the company's financial strategy, driving profitability, and ensuring fiscal responsibility across all departments. The ideal candidate is a seasoned financial leader with a strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and capital markets, committed to guiding the company through its next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, including long-term financial planning and forecasting.
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, treasury, and tax.
- Manage relationships with investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Provide strategic financial advice and guidance to the CEO and the Board of Directors.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Drive operational efficiency and cost management initiatives to maximize profitability.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership position (e.g., CFO, VP Finance).
- Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and fundraising activities is highly desirable.
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent certification required; MBA preferred.
