Childcare Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and strategic Childcare Development Officer to support the growth and improvement of childcare services in the Oxford area. You will play a key part in developing initiatives, providing expert advice, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality and accessibility of childcare services within the designated area.
• Provide guidance and support to childcare providers on business development, marketing, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor the childcare sector, identifying trends, gaps in provision, and areas requiring development.
• Organise and deliver training and networking events for childcare professionals.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and quality standards across childcare settings.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, Ofsted, and childcare providers.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or Business Management (e.g., Level 4 or above).
• Significant experience in the childcare sector, with a strong understanding of policy and practice.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, strategic planning, or service development.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of funding streams, business sustainability, and quality improvement frameworks in childcare.
