Civil Engineer - Design & Planning

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Civil Engineer with a focus on Design & Planning to join their team in Norwich . This role involves developing comprehensive designs and plans for a variety of civil engineering projects, from initial concept through to detailed construction drawings. You will work collaboratively with project managers, surveyors, and clients to ensure that designs are practical, compliant with regulations, and meet project objectives. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer to contribute significantly to local infrastructure development and gain broad experience in the planning and design phases of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary and detailed designs for civil engineering projects, including site layouts, drainage, and road networks.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation using CAD software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to inform design decisions.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to refine designs and resolve technical issues.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and project cost estimates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering design and planning.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant civil design software.
• Good understanding of UK planning regulations, building standards, and construction methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
