Civil Engineer - Structural Design

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer with a focus on Structural Design to join their forward-thinking consultancy based in Bristol . This role offers the chance to contribute to the design and delivery of a diverse range of building and infrastructure projects, ensuring their structural integrity and compliance with the highest safety standards. Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for building frameworks, bridges, and other civil engineering structures.
• Produce detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using relevant software.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and construction teams to achieve optimal design solutions.
• Conduct site inspections to verify design implementation and resolve any emerging structural issues.
• Ensure all designs meet the requirements of British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant building regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and fee proposals.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience in structural design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structural Designer, or similar.
• Good understanding of various construction materials including steel, concrete, and timber.
• Familiarity with CDM regulations and health and safety best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent communication skills.
