About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer specializing in structural analysis and design to join their team, offering a remote work option based out of Bristol . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of complex mechanical systems and components, ensuring compliance with safety factors and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement advanced FEA models to assess stress, strain, fatigue, and vibration characteristics.
• Provide expert technical consultation and direction to engineering teams on structural integrity matters.
• Define testing protocols and oversee validation activities to confirm design performance.
• Stay abreast of cutting-edge structural engineering techniques and software advancements.
• Collaborate with external partners and internal stakeholders to resolve complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• PhD or MSc in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Solid Mechanics or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in structural analysis and mechanical design, ideally within high-risk industries.
• Expert-level proficiency in FEA software (e.g., ABAQUS, NASTRAN) and associated pre/post-processors.
• Deep understanding of material behavior, fracture mechanics, and failure analysis.
• Experience managing complex analysis projects and leading technical reviews.
• Proven ability to excel in a remote work environment, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills.
