Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Civil Engineer specializing in structural analysis to join their innovative team in Bristol . This role is integral to ensuring the safety, integrity, and performance of a wide range of structures, from bridges and buildings to offshore platforms. You will lead complex analysis tasks, mentor a team of analysts, and provide expert technical leadership on challenging projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform advanced structural analysis using finite element methods (FEM) and other sophisticated modelling techniques.
- Develop and validate complex structural models for static, dynamic, and fatigue assessments.
- Interpret analysis results and provide clear, concise recommendations for design improvements and verification.
- Oversee the work of structural analysis engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure analysis requirements are integrated early in the project lifecycle.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in structural analysis software and methodologies.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Structural Engineering or a related field, with chartered status (e.g., CEng) essential.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience specifically in structural analysis, with a proven track record on complex projects.
- Expertise in advanced FEM software such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, or similar.
- Deep understanding of structural mechanics, material behaviour, and failure criteria.
- Experience in analysing various structures including steel, concrete, and composite materials.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, strong report writing capabilities, and leadership potential.
