About the Role
Our client, a prominent financial services firm, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Compliance Officer to join their team in Cambridge . This role is responsible for ensuring the firm adheres to all relevant financial regulations, policies, and ethical standards. You will play a crucial part in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, providing guidance to staff, and mitigating regulatory risk. This hybrid position allows for collaborative work in the office and focused analysis from home, contributing to the firm's integrity and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the firm's compliance framework and policies.
- Conduct regular compliance monitoring and risk assessments across all business areas.
- Investigate potential breaches of regulatory requirements and internal policies, recommending corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice and training to staff on regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies (e.g., FCA) and manage regulatory reporting.
- Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and advise the business accordingly.
- Manage internal compliance audits and support external regulatory examinations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a compliance role within the financial services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of UK financial regulations (e.g., FCA Handbook, PRA Rulebook).
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations clearly.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
