About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent and analytical Cost Accountant to join their finance team based in Norwich . This role will be responsible for analysing manufacturing costs, providing insights into production efficiency, and supporting pricing strategies. You will play a key role in controlling costs, improving profitability, and contributing to informed business decisions within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain standard costing systems for manufactured products.
- Analyse variances between standard and actual costs, investigating discrepancies and reporting findings.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to production and overhead costs.
- Monitor inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Provide detailed cost analysis to support pricing decisions, product profitability assessments, and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements
- Part-qualified or qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA) with a strong focus on cost accounting.
- Proven experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of costing principles, inventory management, and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively in an office environment in Norwich .
