About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced E-commerce Operations Manager to oversee and optimize the day-to-day running of their online store in Southampton . You will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient customer journey from order placement to final delivery, managing inventory, fulfillment, and customer service operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of e-commerce logistics. You will work closely with various departments, including sales, marketing, and IT, to drive operational excellence and enhance customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be instrumental in scaling our client's e-commerce capabilities and maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and improve all aspects of the e-commerce operations , including order processing, inventory management, warehousing, and shipping.
- Oversee the customer service function, ensuring timely and effective resolution of inquiries and issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize fulfillment processes, reduce costs, and improve delivery times.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operations, such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and return rates.
- Collaborate with the IT department to ensure the smooth functioning of the e-commerce platform and related systems.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and suppliers.
Requirements
- Proven experience in e-commerce operations management or a similar logistics/supply chain role.
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems, warehouse operations, and fulfillment best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms and order management systems.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
