Farm Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and hands-on Farm Supervisor to support the management of their agricultural operations based near Bradford . This role is integral to the daily functioning of the farm, ensuring that all tasks related to crop cultivation and preparation are carried out efficiently and to a high standard. You will work closely with the Farm Manager, directly supervising a team of farm workers, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to work schedules and safety protocols. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with practical farming experience who is looking to step into a leadership role within the vital agriculture and forestry sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the daily activities of farm workers engaged in planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
• Ensure all farm machinery and equipment are operated safely and maintained in good working order.
• Monitor crop health and growth, reporting any issues or concerns to the Farm Manager.
• Implement farm plans and instructions accurately, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to specified quality standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment, enforcing all health and safety regulations on the farm.
• Assist with record-keeping related to planting, yields, livestock, and labour.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role on a farm or in a related agricultural setting.
• Solid practical knowledge of crop husbandry, including planting, irrigation, and harvesting techniques.
• Familiarity with the operation and basic maintenance of farm machinery.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements in an agricultural environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team.
• Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
