About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and hands-on Farm Supervisor to manage the daily operations of their mixed farm in Cambridge . This role is critical for ensuring the efficient execution of farming tasks, overseeing a small team of farm workers, and maintaining high standards of crop and livestock management. You will be responsible for the coordination of fieldwork, machinery operation, and general farm maintenance, working closely with the farm owner or manager to achieve production targets. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of farm staff, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
- Oversee crop planting, cultivation, and harvesting operations according to the farm plan.
- Ensure the welfare and health of livestock, including feeding and basic veterinary care.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Implement and enforce health and safety procedures on the farm.
- Maintain records of farm activities, yields, and resource usage.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a farm or agricultural setting, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Practical knowledge of crop production and/or livestock management.
- Ability to operate various types of farm machinery and equipment.
- Good leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team.
